Summary / Primary Role:
The Account Representative, Export Traffic is responsible for coordinating shipments for all modes of transportation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Make bookings with ocean carriers.
- Arrange drayage with truck carriers.
- Able to update data in customers systems (ex. SAP).
- Responsible for communicating booking details and updates to the customer in a clear and timely manner.
- Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of the regulations, guidelines, and/or company procedures and policies pertaining to export traffic.
- Responsible for reading, interpreting, and coordinating shipments between multiple carriers for all modes of transportation as set forth in the shipper’s letter of instructions, letters of credit and/or any other acceptable instructions or requirements of the clients.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
- High School graduate with prior work experience is required.
- Experience in Ocean or Airfreight movement or general Freight Forwarding preferred.
- Excellent computer skills a must.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, be detail-oriented, well organized, and able to solve problems.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to prioritize. Good analytical skills.
- Good oral communication skills, particularly when dealing with a variety of people in situations over the phone.
- Willingness to assist other departments to meet customer requirements.
- Must be able to interact with management, supervisors, and other staff members in a reasonable and acceptable manner.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
