Position Summary:
The Applications Engineer position assumes a leading role to provide commissioning, calibration, and equipment and process diagnostic support and service for our customers around the world. The Applications Engineer supports departmental and company objectives for premier customer service through the provision of both hands-on and project team leadership roles relating to equipment installations, commissioning, calibrations and troubleshooting of CiDRA’s products and technologies. The Applications Engineer will also provide training for the customer and company personnel of all relevant software and hardware aspects of the product technology. The provision of training will include hardware and software maintenance, theory of operation, calibration and statistical modeling, design and handling diagnostics relating to the products. Also included as a key responsibility of this position is a knowledge and experience with the basics of pipeline dynamics, fluid mechanics, mineralogy, grind circuits and control; and the interaction between the customer’s process and plant equipment and CiDRA’s product technology. The Application Engineer is expected to maintain superior customer relations and the highest level of customer satisfaction by serving as the company liaison on product and service technical matters. This position requires proven leadership, project management and communication skills.
Education/Skills:
- Bachelor of Science Degree plus four years of experience preferred.
- Must be proficient with a computer and software such as Microsoft Excel and Word and have a working knowledge of other productivity software systems such as Microsoft Projects, SharePoint, CRM and other technical and business platforms. Working knowledge of MATLAB is a plus.

- Takes both a leadership and hands-on role with respect to commissioning, calibration, trouble shooting of company products and customer’s process
- Ensures upfront planning and developing a work scope prior to commissioning and calibration of products and ensure that all HSE accreditation and induction requirements are met beforehand.
- During a project, ensure that all company and customer policies relating to HSE, ethics compliance and best practice work standards are followed. Also, this position is responsible to ensure the project team’s compliance with all CiDRA procedures for labor, time, travel, safety and other administrative reporting as required.
- Provide presales technical support to help the CiDRA engineering and business development organizations to interpret customer requirements and determine the suitability of CiDRA equipment and / or services for the application.
- Works with CiDRA’s Product Managers, Sales team, Engineers and customers as a key technical advisor for the company’s product technologies and explores new, possible applications and uses for the application of the product technology to a customer’s process.
- As required, provide technical training to customers or in-house personnel.
- Function as the main focal point for technical questions, customer support requests and coordination of unresolved customer application issues in assigned area or locale.
- Maintain higher-level expertise for CiDRA products and their application in the markets / industries that we serve.
- Complete required company and customer documentation, writing diagnostic reports as required.
- Individual must be a self-starter with ability to plan, organize and execute.
- Individual must possess excellent communication skills.
- Requires worldwide travel, up to 60%. Duration of travel can span consecutive weeks and weekends.

- Enlists support of engineering, field service, tech support, product management and sales management for resources as needed
- Provides management reports regarding key issues that may impact customer satisfaction, revenue, and future customer opportunities

- Adherence, ownership and innovation of field and logistics procedures and activities
Other:
- International travel required, up to 60% with consecutive weeks and weekends likely
- Ability to lift and carry up 50 pounds
- Must have valid passport
- Valid drivers’ license and clean driving record
- Required to work at heights with proper PPE and safety guards in place
- May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties
- May be required to work in high humidity and heat locations, high altitudes, and extremely cold climate environments
