The Opportunity
The Kenzie Assistant Vice President of Academic Product & Assessment (KAVP-AAP) reports to the Executive Director of Kenzie Academy from Southern New Hampshire University and is an important partner in both strategic planning and daily academic operations on the Senior Leadership Team.
You will provide dynamic leadership collaborating with multiple partners across Kenzie/SNHU including academic operations, curriculum development, assessment, instructional design, compliance, faculty, staff, and other partners. You will oversee the academic assessment process and provide recommendations for product enhancement, product functionality and product viability. You will also oversee the design of new curriculum and the delivery models used to educate in teched. You will focus on details while still holding a “big-picture” understanding of the student journey and the student needs.
You will demonstrate a commitment to student centered instruction. You will lead the Kenzie Academic Assessment and Product staff, providing guidance in all assessment and curriculum product strategy, planning, prioritization, and development and ensure deliverables. You will ensure the integrity of process, address learner complaints, academic issues, and work with Senior Leadership to ensure that academic processes are designed to provide support for all students. You are one of the primary figures in ensuring the proper intersection of academic efficiency and quality in delivery.
You will ensure the efficient management of the Kenzie academic calendar, academic programmatic health, new program launch and integration, project/portfolio management, and internal/external communications. You will be a partner and resource in supporting the daily academic operations.
As an important member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will meet with other Senior Leaders to ensure agreement and progress towards strategic and departmental goals, including the Kenzie Strategy, KPI’s and the 8Q Planning Roadmap. You will use the Kenzie community to ensure coordination and value between interdependent units by breaking down silos, using data-driven decision-making and putting our students at the core of our decision-making.
We are looking for you to collaborate with others towards a unified vision. You will also be a mentor for junior personnel, providing guidance in the performance of their individual functions and supporting future advancement.
You will Get To:
- You will lead the Kenzie Academic Assessment and Product staff, providing guidance in all assessment and product strategy, curriculum improvements, planning, road-mapping, prioritization, and execution of instruction
- You will ensure integrity in processes, address academic issues, and work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that academic assessments and product development and processes are designed to provide efficient support for all students
- You will provide strategic leadership of the academic assessment process, product development, curriculum improvements, enhancements, and modifications in synchronous and asynchronous delivery models
- You will ensure the academic assessments and product development are conducted in compliance with applicable state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances, and within standards of accreditation
- You will lead efforts to develop systems to support the academic assessment and product development team according to the Kenzie Strategy
- You will ensure academic integrity and maintain secure housing of course materials and supporting resources
- You will work with Kenzie IT to ensure backups and system requirements are maintained for all curriculums
- You will integrate student feedback into the assessment and product development process, working collaboratively with other important Kenzie team members to provide resolutions that are student centered
- You will manage academic, assessment and product data. You will provide reporting and presentations of data related to academic assessment, product, and student success
- You will lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning
- You will ensure staff and student systems are aligned and platforms are student centered, using UDL and ID theory to ensure learning success for all students
- You will develop and empower your team to demonstrate behaviors and competencies that build trust, engagement, and accountability
- You will be hands on and strategic within your position
- You will partner across the organization to ensure understanding and consistency
- Other responsibilities as assigned
What We are Looking For:
- 7+ years of leadership in academic assessment and instructional design
- Experience in higher education in an open access environment and student-centered focus
- Experience in Tech Ed and online course delivery in both asynchronous and synchronous curriculum
- Experience in a matrixed, complex organization, where leadership extends beyond direct reporting lines
- Familiarity with higher education paired with non-academic industry experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field
