Associate Buyer / Admin Job Description
Bray & Scarff is the largest independent appliance retailer in the Washington D.C./Baltimore metro region. Founded in 1930, we’ve grown to 15 locations across Maryland and northern Virginia. Our customers have come to value our factory trained appliance sales team in the stores and our elite installers in the field. We’re the one-stop-shop for premium appliances and the services that go with it.
We’re growing our Purchasing Office and are adding an Associate Buyer to the team:
Position Description
In the Associate Buyer / Admin position, you can expect to perform the following duties:
- Manage the buying of a specific brand, up to and including inventory management, purchase order monitoring, and forecasting.
- Reconcile incoming invoices from our Vendor Partners, and communicate any discrepancies to accounting
- Manage our backorder log, and communicate with delivery to identify route shortages
- Receive incoming shipments into our inventory management software
- Assist in the logging of promotional pricing into our Point-of-Sale system
- Claim any necessary rebates with vendor partners
- Work cross-functionally to grasp our processes with the intention to grow to a full-time buyer
Requested Skills and Experience
- 2-5 years of previous administrative experience
- Previous experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience in a retail-based environment preferred but not required
- Ability to maintain communication with multiple different departments
- Time management skills
- A positive, energetic attitude
