Split-Rail is an upscale neighborhood restaurant located in Humboldt Park. We are hospitality-forward and are here to serve our neighborhood. Our goal is to offer a fun, upbeat, and positive work environment, while taking care of our guests.
We are seeking 1-2 bartenders for part-time (or potentially one full-time) positions. Some restaurant experience is necessary, but this is a great position for someone who is looking to get behind the bar for the first time, or whose skills are a little bit rusty. The position involves guest interaction as well as drink production.
Split-Rail pays a living wage to all team members, with any tips given being shared among the entire team, front and back of house. Our pay scale is dependent on experience and position, but begins at $18/hour for entry level positions. Tips can range from $3-5 per hour and are paid out weekly with paychecks.
In addition, we offer the following for team members who qualify:
- Medical Health Insurance (following 60 days employment for full time employees)
- 401k; after 1 year, matching up to 4%
- $250 Retention Bonus every three months of employment (for full time employees)
- Paid Time Off (Accrual period begins for full time employees after 90 days)

JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:
- Uphold warm, hospitable environment for fellow coworkers and guests.
- Must have an eye for detail and a willingness to expand one’s product knowledge with proper training from management.
- Must be 21+ to serve alcohol in the city of Chicago
- Must have weekend availability
- Must have night time availability
- Must be able to able to move intentionally and safely through the workspace. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must comply with all safety and sanitation requirements put forth by the state and city of Chicago.
- Must have or obtain safe food handler’s permit within 30 days of hire.
- Must have or obtain safe alcohol server’s permit within 30 days of hire.
