By Light is looking for multiple Campus Network Engineers (CNE) to support our government customer on a multi-year contract providing networking support across multiple locations in a region. CNEs will perform installations to include but not limited to configuration creation, equipment configuration, physical installation, and assistance with operation and maintenance of Aruba Switch equipment. Regional travel for onsite installations will be required; long-term, this position will require additional travel to regions across the US for installs.

- Prepare equipment configurations and validate configurations for new installations, changes within the network and software upgrades for Access and Aggregation Campus Switches.
- Support the network environment to include assessing the health of the hardware and software infrastructure for Campus Switches during the installation of the equipment.
- Complete network related testing to ensure installation follows established guidelines and capabilities for Campus Switches.
- Assist in the creation of implementation, integration & migration plans and provide operational support for Campus Switches during installation of equipment.
- Troubleshoot network issues during the installation of the equipment.
- Provide ongoing and informal transfer of knowledge for Campus Switches.
- Open OEM TAC cases on behalf of the customer in the event of a software/configuration issue or hardware failure.
- Provide Ad-hoc written summary reports on equipment and network problems to the RE and Customer Engineering staff.
- Provide technical input to major service outage root cause analysis and corrective action reports.
- Follow equipment installation procedures and test plans and document results to be shared with Customer Networking staff and the RE.
- Follow established operation and support procedures.
- Respond to and resolve technical issues via Customer MS Teams support channel during installation of equipment.
- Provide input for and follow implementation plans for equipment migrations.
- Follow scripted migration procedures for installations.
- Provide input for Go/No-Go criteria for equipment installations.
- Use miscellaneous scripting support using OEM solutions.
- Provide remote support during the time he/she is not on travel.
- Assist in the testing and development of automation tools to enhance the network operational environment at the customer site.
- Other duties as assigned by the customer.
- This position will require frequent travel. When not on site, engineers will be assisting in the development of project plans, designs and documentation for future sites as well as providing technical reach back to deployed installation teams.
- Education: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or similar areas of study are preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in networking including functional and technical experience with implementing and replacing access switches to include operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a large campus network environment.
- Security + / DoD 8140 certification level IAT-I (must have within 3 months of hire)
- Aruba Certified Switching Professional (ACSP) (must have within 4 months of hire)
- Must be able to multi-task, required to provide daily status/updates to supervisors/ managers
- Candidate must be a self-starter and possess the ability to identify all subtasks, prioritize work, and determine the tools / material required to accomplish their assigned task within the allotted time.
- Candidate must have strong problem-solving, as well as the ability to interact well with both internal and external engineers, technicians, and customers.
- Aruba Certified Switching Professional (ACSP)
- Configuration expert on the proposed Aruba Switching equipment.
- Shall have the ability to understand and create network diagrams.
- Experience with EIGRP and OSPF
- Moderate level Public Trust required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and/or pass an equivalent criminal/employment/education background check.
