Clinic Nurse (LPN or RN)

Department: Mount Ayr Medical Clinic Position: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Brief Description of Job:
Application of professional nursing skills in a physician clinic setting.
Performs patient care activities for patients of diverse ages and their families.

Essential Functions:
Assesses data related to patient’s and significant others perception of illness. Prioritizes
needs identified by assessment, incorporating specialized knowledge base and makes
changes based on patient/family needs.
Utilizes other members of the health care team in assessing the patient and analyzes
patient data. Assesses learning needs of the patient and significant others. Gives accurate
and complete information to patient and family.
Evaluates understanding of treatment plan and/or instructions.
Assists with a variety of procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as
assigned (i.e. colposcopy, endoscopy, tympanometry, treadmills, etc.).
Maintains appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and medications
administered.
Is responsible for instrument and equipment maintenance, identifying problems and
coordinating appropriate repairs.
Works assigned shift/shifts, weekends and holidays, as scheduled.
Assists and/or directs patients to various departments.
Operates various office machines, i.e., fax, copier, computer.
Assists with maintaining inventory of supplies and stocking various areas.
Performs miscellaneous office duties, i.e., scheduling, retrieving medical records.

Educational/Experience Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing – RN or LPN
Or Graduate from EMT-PM Program
Current License in appropriate field
Good communication skills required
Understands HIPAA regulations and privacy of patient and employee information.
