Job Description
Blackwood is seeking a Collections Analyst to manage ongoing collections efforts in accordance with internal collections policies. This role is responsible for upholding and maintaining collections procedures and initiatives, mitigating financial risk, and is critical to the financial viability of the business. This position reports to the Business Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed
- Communicate with previous clients and customers to request payment and arrange payment plans
- Collect payment details and status from customers and accurately record it into the system
- Update client accounts based on payment or contact information
- Manages collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past due accounts, keeping track of cash receipts, and referring accounts to collection agencies.
- May be responsible for ad hoc customer billing and responding to customer inquiries regarding bills.
- May be responsible for intermittent interdivisional support within business operations
- Ensures compliance with internal collections policy and adherence to best practices.
- May recommend improvements to interdivisional processes
- Provides reporting on outstanding account balances and collection activity.
Basic Qualifications
US Citizen- Willingness to permit a Background Check
- Reputation of operating with strong ethics and integrity
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or Equivalent Experience
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization as well as customers and vendors
- Understand and maintain confidentiality requirements.
- Basic proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic proficiency of Adobe Acrobat
- Reputation of operating with strong ethics and integrity
- Displays a high level of effort in a fast-paced, high-volume environment; excellent organizational skills with the ability manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to effectively organize and prepare data in a way that best supports customer requirements

Experience with Enterprise Accounting Software- Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
