Community Technologist
Location: On-site at 7205 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE 68114
Classification: Specialist: Part-Time, Non-Exempt. This position is responsible for specific functions within the technology department and has no direct reports.
Pay Grade: $17 min- $19 max/hour

Position
Reporting to the Technology Manager, Community Technologists are responsible for assisting Do Space members of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of ability with their technology needs, and supporting the project’s ultimate goal to drive technology education and literacy in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists members of the community with technology questions at the tech help desk and instructs them on the use of Do Space in-house hardware and software, and assists members with the borrowing of equipment.
- Basic troubleshooting of Do Space technology including public access computers, tablets, gaming equipment, 3D printers, and other technology.
- Training other staff on technologies used in Do Space.
- Works with the Community Technology Team to develop new ideas and strategies for technology access within Do Space.
- Develops volunteers and assists with assigning appropriate duties to those volunteers.
- May develop and lead technology classes and workshops.
- Provides an outstanding customer service experience to the community.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated proficiency and comfort with a variety of hardware and software products
- Experience in assisting others with the use of technology
- Experience serving people of diverse ages and backgrounds
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to exhibit leadership, sound judgment, and professional demeanor in all interactions
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for serving the people of Omaha
- Experience using production equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters is a plus
- Priority will be given to candidates with Apple administration skills
- Bilingual ability is a plus in serving our diverse community
- Experience with and/or a willingness to learn equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters are a plus
