Summary

Hi-Way Paving is seeking a Concrete Plant Groundman to assist and maintain the daily operations of a high-volume concrete plant.

Currently, this position will serve projects in Nashville, TN, Richmond, VA, Raleigh, NC, Charlotte, NC and possibly other future project cities TBD. This role requires extensive travel (and stays) in locations where projects are active.

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicle traffic and signal equipment operators, as needed.
• Wash out dump trucks.
• Load, unload, or identify construction materials, machinery, and tools.
• Chip, clean, and conduct general upkeep of the plant and surrounding area
• Use hand and power tools, as necessary, to complete tasks.
• Assist with setup, operation, and take down of plant as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with other laborers, machine operators, and site management.
• Observe safe work practices and all safety protocols and instructions.
• Other tasks and duties, as assigned

Qualifications

• Construction-site labor experience, required.
• Heavy or highway construction experience, preferred.
  
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high security zones. (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.)

• Physical capabilities required are climbing, lifting, carrying a minimum of 75 lbs., standing, sitting, walking, entering confined spaces, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and performing repetitive actions.
