Data Analyst

Client: Financial Services

Location: Troy, MI or able to re-locate (Hybrid role)

Individuals will be part of a team that is working on a discovery phase for a system migration.

Required: (MUST HAVES)

• 3+ Financial services experience with technical data required
• 9+ years experience data mapping & data profiling to integrate data between source & target environments
• 4+ years experience in IBM Data Stage
• 5+ years’ experience performing source to target mapping in source system migration/data integration efforts
• 5+ years’ experience working with data tools such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, and Tableau

Data analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring that data from multiple sources is properly integrated, mapped and aligned into a new single system. You will work as part of a team to assess the target system data elements and mappings against source system to establish sound data integrity/correct mappings, and/or, identify errors and root cause to solution changes needed to bring congruency between the source and target systems. The individuals must be highly analytical and critical thinker as well as a self-starter.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct data analysis and comparison across systems
• Provide summary of findings and recommendations to remediation of data incongruencies
• Perform data profiling activities to provide statistics and informative summaries for integration of new source system data into environment
• Conduct research and perform source to target mapping and analysis to ensure congruency of fields, data elements and definition conducting research
• Compiling results into useful reports
• Investigate and document incorrect data mappings
• Analyze data to identify trends or patterns that may be hidden within the data
• Perform ad-hoc data analysis and create output reports for business use
• Designing and developing automated scripts to process large amounts of data quickly and accurately
• Work collaboratively with Business, IT, data modelers, data quality analysts, and delivery teams to analyze data

Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience performing source to target mapping in source system migration/data integration efforts
• 5+ years’ data profiling experience
• 5+ years’ experience working with data tools such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, and Tableau
• 5+ years’ experience with IBM Data Stage
• Ability to analyze large datasets and troubleshoot data errors
• Ability to create comprehensive reports
• Experience documenting/presenting data analysis findings
• Strong verbal/written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience and working knowledge of data in the financial services industry

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
