MedStar Health is hiring a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our Team at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital!
GENERAL SUMMARY
Conducts ultrasound examinations to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data. Obtains patient history, explains procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Reviews results for quality and completeness and refers to physician for evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Lead shall additionally provide leadership and guidance to the Radiology department associates and possesses and demonstrates appropriate knowledge and technique to provide appropriate clinical care to the specific patient population.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of accredited ultrasound technologist program.
- Registry eligible as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) required.
- Certification in basic CPR.
- Experience in abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, carotid, vascular, breast and testicular scanning.
