Director Of Care (DOC), Ingersoll, ON

Our client is in search for Director of Resident Care (DOC) for their long-term care facility in Ingersoll, ON. The DOC working in collaboration with the Clinical Manager of resident Care, organizes, implements and audits resident care and provides leadership with continuing education, infection control, quality and health and safety.

The Administrator

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse with a current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario - BScN preferred.
• Post R.N. education in management or a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in long term care management.
• Understanding of resident focused care and possess a high level of skill in LTC clinical or operational leadership, change management and quality/risk management.
• Sound clinical skills and knowledge of gerontology nursing practice.
• Experience in the facilitation of education and in adult education principles.
• Computer skills – familiarity with Word, Outlook and experience with a documentation software program e.g. Point Click Care, MDS.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an inter-disciplinary environment.
• Strong ability to team build and to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Excellent communication skills with team members and with families and residents.
• Excellent organizational as well as leadership skills.
• Good listener, respectful and compassionate.
