Job Summary:
The Director, Training and Development will lead the creation and execution of all training and brand standard initiatives for continuous improvement and elevation of operations across the Edible system. They are responsible for the multi-tiered, integrated, and year-round training programs for every audience in the brand including field team members, managers, franchisees, region business managers and corporate employees. This person will partner with Operations, Business Development, Innovation, Marketing, Technology and the leadership team to ensure we deliver learning programs that achieve successful sales, profits and high customer satisfaction.
Essential Function and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a fully integrated training and development platform with innovative content for all audiences including the corporate office employees
- Lead creation and implementation of new store opening process
- Lead creation and implementation of store manager training program
- Assess and re-shape curriculum and content development for the new franchisee training program
- Work cross-functionally to support Go-To-Market initiatives
- Lead the industry in key innovative training and development practices measured by key business results, employee and guest loyalty and retention, leadership development and industry recognition
- Assist Executive Team providing organizational clarity around the company mission, values and actual behaviors; collaboratively and creatively working to close identified gaps
- Effectively lead, hire and manage direct reports and their functions while moving the Department to best in class
- Provide internal performance consulting services to teams throughout the company as well as change management programs to facilitate implementation of new programs, processes and initiatives that support the brand strategy, goals, and leadership priorities
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related field
- Master’s in Organizational Development or Training Development a plus
- Experience in Instructional Design a must
- 7-10 years of demonstrated success in design and implementation of effective training platforms with a systems orientation, especially in technology platforms for delivery of programs
- Must be organized, an innovative problem solver, highly collaborative at the executive level and possess an ROI mentality and methodology for evaluating all training and development programs
- Actively reflect our people, values and culture at all times while influencing the organization and executive team through daily actions, behaviors, and impact
- The ability to identify training and development best practices as well as hire and retain top talent is critical
- Exceptional oral, written and verbal communication skills are essential as well as the ability to break down processes and policies into their discreet parts and communicate those to all levels within the organization
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to act on non-performers with finesse and urgency when necessary
- Possess a willingness to “roll up sleeves” as well as demonstrate the resourcefulness required to function well within a lean environment
- Has a disciplined approach to planning and prioritizing short and long-term objectives, and will be skilled at filtering and disseminating best practices
