Your Opportunity
We are looking for a Disaster Recovery Program Director to help us grow our nationwide disaster recovery and mitigation services. You are joining an organization that already has well-established relationships with key federal clients such as FEMA, Department of Defense, along with a diverse footprint of state and municipal support.
In this role, your strong understanding and market knowledge of disaster recovery, public assistance and mitigation will allow you to position Stantec to secure and maintain new and repeat business clients.
This role can be located in a variety of locations across the United States and will report through Stantec’s US Federal Services leadership team.
Your Key Responsibilities
The Disaster Recovery Program Director will be a senior industry representative responsible for expanding and growing our recovery services in federal, state, and local sectors. Key areas of focus include:
- Maintain and leverage existing industry knowledge and relationships to secure new and repeat business across targeted clients and accounts.
- Identify and manage strategic pursuits, partnerships, teaming, and negotiations.
- Be accountable for major pursuits, marketing and business development, and results.
- Coordinate with applicable business line leadership and account managers to establish growth strategies, competitive cost/delivery models, and annual budgets.
- Work with marketing and public relations to lead internal and external branding to attract talent and increase market presence.
- Oversee and participate in project delivery to drive performance, credibility, client satisfaction, and meet utilization goals.
- Recruit and mentor support teams to meet business development and program execution objectives.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Demonstrated success in developing and delivering large-scale disaster recovery, disaster mitigation, disaster preparedness and public assistance contracts across federal, state, and/or local sectors.
- Strong knowledge of the full disaster lifecycle with focus for recovery services including business development, planning, program management, operational staffing, and delivery.
- Demonstrated understanding of commercial terms, competitive cost environments, and pricing models to competitively pursue and execute disaster recovery contracts.
- Experience operating within a multi-disciplinary and collaborative environment of highly skilled professionals including internal networking across a large enterprise as well as demonstrated experience building and developing successful relationships.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with a demonstrated ability to influence and build effective relationships built on trust and open communication.
- Strong negotiation skills and an entrepreneurial orientation.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, planning, or a related area from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience with preference for federal disaster recovery, and mitigation program management experience.
- Registered professional or accredited in contract management and/or federal compliance is preferred.
New York City’s Pay Transparency Law: Requires employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in New York City:
- Hiring Salary Range: $182,600 - $232,800— New York City locations only. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
Position will primarily work in an office setting with prolonged sitting and computer work, or combination of office and field. Some travel is expected (approximately 25%) such as meeting with potential clients and agencies. May occasionally visit areas and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
