We are a family company seeking an energetic and cool-under-pressure person to assist in our Rockland County dispatch operation.

This role involves all aspects of operating a transportation terminal and is a great fit for people who don't like to be bored. Student Transportation is a busy but rewarding field, and utilizes a wide range of skillsets. Don't hesitate to stop by or call with any questions.

Responsibilities:

• Be the front line of communication for a terminal of school bus drivers/monitors
• Effectively communicates key information with all relevant partners (schools, employees, other dispatcher, manager) In a timely and appropriate manner
• Directs and assesses daily assignments of routes and vehicles
• Assist in routing
• Uses keen attention to detail to ensure processes are carried out consistently and efficiently
• Answer phone calls, assist with emergency response, mechanical issues, etc.
• Communicate unresolved issues to appropriate individual
• Drive route when necessary and maintain active CDL bus driver status (random drug testing, less than 10 points, able to pass DOT physical)

Qualifications:

• Dispatch or Management experience a plus but will gladly train a person who has a naturally solid work ethic
• Superb organizational skills
• Desire to consistently problem-solve in a time-sensitive environment
• Ability to quickly and responsibly prioritize tasks
• Proven ability to treat coworkers with respect and dignity
• Thrives in a fast-paced setting
• Active CDL also a plus, but will train if not a current CDL holder

Compensation:

• $50,000 to $60,000 per year depending on experience (Will include health insurance plan for single paid in full by company)
