Drug Raw Materials, B2B Sales & Business Development in the Bio/Pharmaceutical Sector @Japanese Trading Company

Job location: Midtown Manhattan

Relocation support: Yes, negotiable.

Our client is a well-established Japanese (export & import) trading company which has been doing business in the US for many decades. We are currently looking for a sales rep who is interested in selling raw materials used in drugs to various companies for our client.

Essential duties:

  • Sell raw materials used in drugs in the bio/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Responsible for sales and business development in the bio/pharmaceutical sector.
  • Travel to customers, both domestic and international up to 50% of the time. Potential travel destinations are Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Canada, Japan, France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and etc.. You may travel to Japan a few times a year in the future.
  • Contact existing customers and seek new business opportunities to sell more drugs' raw materials in the bio pharma industry.
  • Contact prospective customers by cold calling.
  • Coordinate and attend trade shows, as well as exhibitions to find new customers.
  • Project Management: Coordinate with manufacturing and shipping partners to ensure customers’ needs are met. Manage supply of various bio/pharmaceutical drug raw materials for customers. Inventory planning and management.
  • Prepare a draft of the custom-made materials supply and service solutions.
  • Create presentation materials and give presentations to customers to sell bio/pharmaceutical drug raw materials.
  • Create reports about potential customers, including their products/services, and financial data.
  • Prepare periodical sales forecast and budget reports.
  • Report to a sales manager/office head.

Some of the minimum qualification requirements:

  • A few years of B2B sales and business development experience.
  • If you have worked at a Japanese (export and import) trading company, that's very helpful.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher education. A college degree in business, science, pharma, biology, bio chemical, or chemical engineering, life science preferred, but not required.
  • Able to drive a rental car with your valid US driver’s license in your business trip.
  • Able to use MS Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • General knowledge of logistics (export and import) and supply chain.
  • If you are familiar with the Japanese culture, that’s very helpful. Japanese language skills are helpful, but not required.
  • A team player with great communication skills.
  • Authorized to work in the US permanently without a visa sponsorship.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Able to start in 2 weeks if you receive a job offer.

Compensation: $80,000 to $85,000/yr + a discretionary bonus.

This is not a commission-based sales job.

FLSA: Exempt

The hiring company will provide health, dental and vision insurance, as well as a 401k plan to its full-time employees in accordance with the company policy.
