Job Purpose


An Aircraft Avionics Technician – Perform repairs, modifications, and installations on C-12 aircraft avionics, wiring, components, and flight controls. Operates ground support equipment and flight line vehicles. Must be able to read, write, and interpret instructions, technical manuals, and/or directives necessary for the accomplishment of job assignments.

The Aircraft Technician will be expected to accomplish aircraft modifications at the San Angelo ACI & Modification Center as well as at aircraft-assigned sites that are both CONUS and OCONUS. This includes 24-month air data and transponder certifications.


Duties and Responsibilities


The primary functions of an "Aircraft Avionics Technician" which can be performed without direct supervision include:

  • Performs tasks as assigned /directed by Crew Team Leader, Leadman, Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance Supervisor, and/or Site Manager by instructions, applicable technical data, manuals, and directives.
  • Utilize technical data packages to install and test avionic modifications.
  • Obtain an FAA Repairman’s certificate and certify air data and transponder systems IAW the FAR’s.
  • Evaluates aircraft discrepancies to identify proper repair methods. Identifies necessary parts, materials, and tooling requirements to complete the task.
  • Utilize manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, Maintenance Engineering Directives, schematics, drawings, blueprints, charts and other applicable publications to install, test, troubleshoot, and ensure aircraft modifications are accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Inspect for corrosion, treat and repair discrepancies. Perform touch-up painting and apply decals and labels. Prepare aircraft components for paint.
  • Comply with and follow established standards of workmanship, safety, quality, and production.
  • Facility maintenance to include custodial work, mopping, cleaning common areas, emptying trash and FOD receptacles.

Key Performance Indicators


  • Amongst another basis, the performance KPI shall be linked to the Capabilities Program Manager’s achievement of obligations and company requirements. It shall cover amongst others the following areas: Successful programs/projects delivery in terms of scope, schedule, cost, quality, etc. Additional KPIs shall be developed by the Capabilities Program Manager, Senior Lead Engineer, and/or PMO management, subject to the requirements of the PMO and the business as a whole.

Work Experience


  • 5+ years of Aircraft electrical installation, test, and troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of C-12, C-26 or T-1A experience preferred.

Educational Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
