KOVAL is hiring for an Events & Programming Manager!

KOVAL is seeking a detail oriented and innovative “people person” with a passion for craft spirits and creating dynamic guest experiences, to oversee the events and programming at our distillery in Ravenswood. Acting or Comedy experience is a plus, but not a must.

Applicants should consider themselves to be strong public speakers who would be excited to share the KOVAL process on a regular basis, by leading tours, workshops and classes. A dedication to going above and beyond for patrons is a must.

This is a unique opportunity for a self motivated and ambitious applicant. Must be comfortable taking the lead on establishing new and engaging partnerships, and be ready to hit the ground running to design and execute events that attendees simply can’t find anywhere else.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Participate in our training program to obtain extensive knowledge of the KOVAL product line and process.
• Create, schedule and staff all public and private tours and cocktail classes.
• At least two cocktail classes a week (rotating schedule with a few special classes a quarter: Prohibition cocktails, Classic Cocktails, Movie Cocktails, etc..)
• Increase the number of events, tours, and workshops (whiskey, gin, brandy, etc.)
• Engage with all private event requests to create a warm and engaging planning process that leaves clients in a worry-free state from start to finish.
• Oversee all events to ensure a smooth, positive guest experience that radiates warmth and stellar service.
• Work collaboratively with Tasting Room General Manager and staff to execute all tasting room events and promotions.
• Connect regularly with the marketing team to strategize on promotions and outreach.
• Engage actively with the various neighborhood Chambers to ensure that we are collaborating with local community partners to provide exciting local events.
• Manage and continue to grow our donation wing, which includes donating and booking private tours, merchandise and additional experiences for charitable organizations.
• Meet with KOVAL owners on a regular basis to discuss staffing, business operations, and other relevant updates
• Must be willing to get relevant certifications, if one does not already have them (Food Handler, Basset, etc.)
• Write weekly reports on activities.
• Ability to consistently work nights, weekends and holidays. [Schedule for this position is generally 12-8pm Wednesday through Sunday].

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work on your feet as well as stationary for at least 8 hours daily.
• Fast paced movements are sometimes required to move throughout the distillery.
• Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 45 pounds.
• Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
