Devil’s Canyon is looking for an amazing Eventhouse Concierge who possesses an engaging, animated, and interesting personality with a significant and positive presence to join the team. The ideal candidate is charismatic, has excellent customer service and communication skills, and is knowledgable about craft beer and the brewing process. You will be responsible for creating a remarkable experience for our guests by sharing your passion for community, craft beer, and hospitality as well as being the example of the Devil’s Canyon culture.

As the first point of contact for guests and as the ambassador of our brand identity, the Eventhouse Concierge plays a critical role in ensuring that our guests have an exceptional experience every time they visit. We work in a high-volume, fast-paced, and family-friendly environment, and this candidate must have the qualities to thrive in it.

The Eventhouse Concierge reports to the Bar Lead and is responsible for day-to-day operation of the front of house and supervision of its success, including checking in guests, selling merchandise and to-go beverages, efficiently following opening/closing protocols, maintaining the physical space, and answering phone calls and any questions from guests.

Restaurant/bar/docent experience preferable, but we’re willing to train people with the right attitude and personality.

Devil’s Canyon is family-owned and operated, hosts both private and public events in its Tasting Room, Barrel Room, and Beer Garden, and produces and distributes sustainably handcrafted beverages centered on premium ingredients.

RESPONSIBILITES:

Overview

  • Greet and welcome every guest who enters the eventhouse with positivity and enthusiasm, as well as frame their visit to adhere to the brand identity and culture, ensuring a remarkable experience
  • Check IDs and apply wristbands appropriately to guests over 21 years of age
  • Share brewery news and event agendas with guests
  • Maintain a positive appearance of the front of house with great attention to detail at all times
  • Promote and sell merchandise including to-go beverages and other brewery products; provide recommendations based on guests' preferences
  • Manage and fulfill pickup orders placed through the online store
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, clients, and exclusive club members
  • Direct private reservation guests to appropriate venues of the eventhouse
  • Send departing guests off with positive reinforcement and identify additional conversation points (ex: offering to remove the wristband they received at entry)
  • Assist with opening and closing protocols for open hours
  • Answer incoming phone calls; call back any missed calls as time allows
  • Ensure guests receive the highest quality product and service throughout their visit
  • Collect data for the Marketing Team verbally by inquiring with guests about the origin of their discovery of the brewery, their experience, and other items and report it at the end of the shift
  • Track the number of guests who enter the eventhouse and report it at the end of every shift
  • Develop beer and brewing knowledge with focus on Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company craft beer, Root Beer, and other products.

Details

  • Part-time, hourly
  • Fridays 3:15pm – 11pm
  • Additional shifts as needed based on event schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. on a regular basis
  • Heavy physical work (bending, kneeling, lifting, etc.)
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and noisy environments with loud to moderate continuous noise
  • Work safely with strong and potentially hazardous chemicals
  • Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 7-9 hours per day)
  • Must be over 21 years old

Professional requirements:

  • Maintains knowledge of and strictly abides by state liquor regulations and verifies legal drinking age of customers
  • Familiarity with Square or equivalent point-of-sale and website system
  • Hospitality, Consumer Packaged Goods, and/or Management Experience a huge plus
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
  • RBS certification a plus, ability to obtain certificate within 30 days of hire.
