Amici Restaurant Group is a family owned business that was established in 2007. We have locations in Hamden and North Haven as well as a busy catering business and a popular pizza truck. We are extremely team oriented and strive to bring our guests high quality meals in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.

We are currently seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team and help lead our kitchen staff to deliver high quality and consistent dishes to our patrons. As the Executive chef you will be responsible for all aspects of the kitchen including: being able to cook all menu items, creating delicious and different weekly specials, monitoring inventory and purchasing supplies and food from approved vendors, assisting with and delegating daily kitchen prep and tasks. The ideal candidate is someone who demonstrates strong communication and leadership skills with at least five years of experience.

Responsibilities/skills:

• Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities

• Developing new unique and cuisine-appropriate menus

• Staying current on developing trends in the restaurant industry

• Maintaining the kitchen and surrounding areas in conditions that meet the company standards and health code regulations

• Hiring, training and supervising kitchen staff

• Assisting and directing kitchen staff in meal preparation, creation, plating and delivery

• Preparing meals and completing prep support as needed

• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

• Supervise kitchen staff’s activities

• Recruit and manage kitchen staff

• Rectify arising problems or complaints

• Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
