Job description

Purpose:

To run and safely operate tongs and equipment on customer/ job locations. Main duties include but are not limited to: communicating with crews, monitoring and operating casing or tubing tongs, and ensuring that the job is completed safely in accordance with Power Torque Services, LLC and customers’ specifications.

Duties:

• Safely and efficiently operate casing or tubing tongs.
• Examine equipment to verify conformance to all quality, safety, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Observe equipment operations and events on-site to recognize and prevent potential hazards.
• Lift or transport equipment manually or using hoists, when necessary.
• Ensure that all applicable customer specifications are met.
• Load and unload items from delivery vehicles in direct compliance with all safety standards.
• Ensure equipment and tongs are cleaned and maintained.
• Handle and move casing or tubing tongs by using hands and arms to install, position, and operate tongs.
• Identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences and/or similarities, and detecting changes in situations or events.
• Inspect equipment to identify errors or other problems/ defects.
• Monitor and review information from materials, events, and the environment to detect and assess problems.
• Provide daily required information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, and/or in person.
• Operate, maneuver, and navigate approved equipment when necessary.
• Assess the value, importance, and quality of tasks and objectives in accordance with all safety policies.

Job Type: Full-time

Experience:

• Tong Operator: 2 years (Preferred)
• Tong Mechanic: 1 year (Preferred)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Location:

• El Campo, TX (Preferred)

License:

• CDL (Preferred)
