Description
The Dallas Team Leader oversees the Dallas Production team that includes the Dallas Assembly and Warehouse teams. The Dallas Team Leader works side by side with the team members to ensure that Tubelite products are produced correctly and shipped on time and complete. Supports Plant Manager with continuous improvement, IE Lean and 5S, projects and data collecting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Dallas Production team members
- Help perform assembly duties including picking material, cutting material, glazing material, applying hardware, packing and inspecting finished doors and frames
- Help perform warehouse duties including picking, packing and loading material
- Help train new Dallas Production team members in Assembly and Warehouse positions
- Direct work flow and resources to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Track and approve time and attendance for Dallas Production team members
- Conduct daily/weekly Team Meetings to discuss performance, quality and safety
- Assist the Human Resources Department to effectively staff for current and future production demands
- Work with Client Solutions Department team members to solve customer and/or product issues
- Help enforce work rules and safety regulations
- Assist with the administration of employee reviews that focus on employee development
- Assist with counseling and disciplining employees as necessary
- Foster an environment that promotes Tubelite’s Core Values, Apogee’s Code of Conduct and customer value
- Develop respectful relationships with team members that fosters a healthy work environment and encourages retention
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- AS Degree, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in production leadership, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work flexible schedules and weekend hours, when required
- Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices and tools
- Excellent communication and team building skills
- Strong leadership and team building skills, willing to be hand’s on
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent computer skills
