ABOUT THE ROLE
The General Accountant, under the direction of the Senior Accountant, ensures the completion of accounting activities.

This is a hybrid position with the expectation to go onsite in Markham 1-2 times per week.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet account analysis and reconciliations
• Support, maintain, and develop accounting systems
• Responsible for the accurate and timely entry and analysis of financial information for the company
• Analyzes variances to determine cause
• Participate in the year-end audit and review processes
• Assist in the development of reporting requirements as requested by Corporate Managers
• Contribute to implementing projects and process improvements in the department
• Act as a supporting contact and work with the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing and Financial Analysis teams
• Assist with the implementation and enhancement of month-end closing procedures
• Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
• Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
• Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
• Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
• Complete other tasks as requested

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

• Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Accounting
• Working towards CPA designation
• Two (2) years of related accounting experience, with a proven track record in month-end close, balance sheet analysis and spreadsheet usage
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to take leadership in special projects
• Proven ability to meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail
• Strong commitment to continued learning
