Job description
This position provides pre-award and post-award administrative and compliance support for all grants and contracts activities for The Laurel Center. The Grants and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for managing grant and contract proposal preparation, fiscal process review and budget development, closeout and reporting oversight and maintenance of grant management tracking systems. This position serves as a liaison between the executive director, program coordinators and the office manager.
Job Duties:
- Analyze, interpret and apply Federal, State, local Government and private funder’s statutes, rules and regulations regarding grant administration and implement related agency-wide processes
- Works closely with the Executive Director and Program Coordinators in monitoring, and reconciling post-award expenditures/invoices
- Ensure expenditures are allowable and allocated to correct funding source
- Monitor Program grant budgets
- Review and make recommendations for budget adjustments
- Write or provide technical assistance in writing and submitting Federal, State, local and other grant applications
- Monitor awarded grants to ensure compliance with grant and legal requirements
- Monitor and prepare periodic reports required by grantors for approval by the Executive Director
- Coordinate with grantors, staff and others as necessary for grant management and compliance
- Serve as the principal subject matter expert for the organization concerning grants and related contract awards, including internal and external audits
- Monitor implementation of grant funded programs/projects ensuring compliance with legal, fiscal and funder requirements
- Analyze and evaluate use of grant funds, making recommendations for modifications as appropriate
- Implement and maintain tracking of grant activities for audit, budget and statistical purposes
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Typical Working Conditions:
- Work is generally performed in a standard office environment
- Work may require occasional evening and weekend hours
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of principles, techniques and guidelines relative to grants, contract administration and subcontracting process
- Familiar with State and Federal rules, regulations, laws and statutes relating to grants
- Acquainted with resources for identifying grant funds, as well as existing grant sources
Education and Experience Requirements:
Combination of education and experience to include a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field with a minimum of 2 years of financial work experience that must include financial reporting. Grant administration and compliance experience preferred.

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of financial work experience, that must include financial reporting; previous grant administration and compliance experience highly preferred
Physical and Mental Standards:
- Mobility: ability to sit for long periods, move about an office, stand occasionally, reach above and below desk level
- Dexterity: fine manipulation sufficient to operate a keyboard, handle individual papers, write and take notes
- Lifting: occasional lifting of papers, files, file boxes, equipment and material weighing up to 25 pounds
- Visual Requirements: close vision sufficient to read files, computer screens and do to close-up work; ability to adjust focus frequently
- Hearing/Talking: ability to hear normal speech, speak and hear on the telephone, and speak in person
- Emotional/Psychological Factors: ability to make decisions and concentrate; frequent contact with others including some public contact; frequent deadlines and time-limited assignments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
