Meadow Lake Resortis seeking a knowledgeable and energetic Head Chef.

The Meadow Lake Bar & Grill is looking to build onto our great team. Meadow Lake offers a mix of lodging including 24 hotel rooms and 114 Condo units totaling 194 total units across the property. The resort has much to offer our guest including an 18-hole golf course, onsite restaurant, multiple pools and hot tubs along with a fitness center. Meadow Lake is looking to add team members to one of the premier properties in Northwest Montana.

· Work with General Manager to make sure the kitchen operation is running properly.

· Ensure all quality and safety guidelines are being followed.

· Clearly and politely communicate with all restaurant employees.

· Assist with menu development.

· The ability to work in any back of house position when needed.

· Maintain a clean and organized back of house.

· Become knowledgeable about the P.O.S. system.

· Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.

· Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.

· Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.

· Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.

· Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes while using various kitchen utensils and equipment.

· Excellent product knowledge.

· The ability to season garnish and arrange food creatively and attractively.

· Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and steam wells.

· Estimate expected food consumption; then procure food from storage and prep accordingly.

· Coordinate and work with other kitchen staff.

Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions

· The ability to correctly lift 30+ pounds.

· Must be able to remain calm under stress.

· Must be able to multitask under stress.

· Able to hear orders being given in the midst of loud background noise.

· Be able to stand during long shifts of 8+ hours.

· Needs to have a full knowledge of the dinner menu that are offered at Meadow Lake Bar & Grille.
