    JOB TITLE:
    Migrant Education Program Home School Liaison

    JOB GOALS:
    Provide advocacy and support services information to families about community resources and assist them in accessing appropriate services. Implement Social Services/Parent Involvement component plan activities. Facilitates the enrollment process for children and works closely with other staff to assess program enrollment compliance. Conducts family home visits as scheduled in the component plan. Works closely with school staff and Special Project Director to identify needs and provide services for children and their families.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. High School or GED diploma (2 years college degree preferred)
    2. Bilingual (English/Spanish),
    3. Typing and computer skills required,
    4. Able to pass a fingerprint and background check.
    5. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., be able to exert 25 –30 lbs. of force frequently, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
    6. Ability to walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, and sit for long periods of time.
    7. Must hold a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint card.


    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 11 Month / 228 day
    COMPENSATION: $17.45 - $20.59
    BENEFITS: As per District policy
    REPORTS TO: Adult Education Program Director
    HOURS: 40 hours per week
    CLASSIFICATION: Grant Fund Hourly, Non-Exempt

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
    1. Recruits and enrolls eligible children and families for the Migrant Education Program.
    2. Assist with interpretation of child/family eligibility and programmatic issues.
    3. Serves as recourse person to human service agencies.
    4. Assist with the maintenance of a viable School Parent Advisory Committee.
    5. Encourage parents participation regularly in the program
    6. Assist parent group in the planning of school activities.
    7. Maintains records of all program parent meetings.
    8. Provides bilingual interpretation and translation.
    9. Assist in program evaluation.
    10. Monitors program enrollment and indicates problems to Special Project Director.
    11. Attends regular in service training
    12. Make home visits to families of children in the program to follow up on parent contracts.
    13. Maintains up to date family records, family needs assessments, referrals and follow ups.
    14. Keep activity log updated (required by ADE-MEP)
    15. Participates in special projects as assigned by the Special Projects Director.
    16. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
    17. Stand for long periods of time
    18. Other duties as assigned.
