Position Description

The Industrial Mechanic/Millwright is a critical member of our maintenance team at Sensei Farms. The experienced Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, conducts repairs and maintenance on pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics. The successful candidate will be a team player, safety conscious, and have a keen eye for continuous improvement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate brackets, stands, tables, and assemblies as requested.
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.

Required Skills, Abilities and Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with conveying systems, automated packing systems, fans, pumps, gears, welding/fabricating.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
  • Proven experience using welding equipment, power tools, grinders, compressors.
  • Experience in repair and preventative maintenance software systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices (LOTO/Fall Protection/Hazard Assessments).
  • Ability to rotate shifts, flexible start times, responding to off hour shifts or work overtime as requested.

Preferred Skills, Abilities and Qualifications

  • Experience in a Manufacturing/Food production environment.
  • Experience in a greenhouse.
  • Passion for teamwork, continuous improvement, and health safety practices.
  • Ability to coach and instruct apprentices.

Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma

Licenses or Certificates

  • Red Seal Millwright Certification
