The Role

As our Intake Coordinator you will be the first point of contact for our service users, caregivers, and community partners! You’ll assist in understanding, accessing, and navigating available supports and provide information about our CHAP and adVANtage services. Your typical day may include communicating with clients, coordinating with program staff to process referrals, and responding to phone inquiries. You will work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with our community support partner agencies.

We're looking for an empathetic person who has a passion for serving older adults and people living with disabilities. You love working with a team, possess a growth mindset and will contribute to our organizational culture by respecting all aspects of diversity and ability. To be successful, you MUST have excellent communication skills since you work directly with a variety of people and abilities. You also have a solid understanding of the community support services sector as well as related community resources.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in human services, business administration, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years’ experience working with seniors and adults living with disabilities.
  • Ability to provide high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (oral, written, active listening) skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft apps (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel). Knowledge of NesdaTrak is an asset.
  • Proficiency in English. Fluency in French and/or other languages is an asset.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check.
