The IT Helpdesk Technician should have:

Minimal Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements

1. Experience as a helpdesk technician or other user support role or equivalent academic training

2. Technologically competent, with a passion to learn and adapt to new and changing systems

3. High school diploma, degree preferred

4. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

5. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows & Office products.

6. Basic understanding of Active Directory programs or willing to learn

7. Ability to diagnose and resolve tier-1 technical issues.

8. Proficiency in English

9. Comfortable working in an office and manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

List the duties and responsibilities required of this job position; include applicable leadership responsibilities.

Under the general direction of the VP of Supply Chain the Helpdesk Technician must provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems in a Windows domain environment. They will answer helpdesk tickets and assist users in fixing their hardware and software issues at various Micronics sites while stationed at out Chattanooga, TN site.

Specific responsibilities include:

1. Serve as a first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance either over the phone, by email, or in person.

2. Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions

3. Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by users

4. Walk the user through problem-solving processes

5. Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel

6. Provide accurate information on IT services or systems

7. Record events and problems, with the resolution used on each ticket

8. Follow-up and update user status and information

9. Pass on any feedback or suggestions by users to the appropriate internal team

10. Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures if found

Physical Requirements

Employee should be able to lift, bend, and move to observe and direct the flow of work in a technology / manufacturing environment with or without modifications. Frequently stand, walk, talk or hear, occasionally required to stoop and kneel, may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee should be able to sit for long periods while using technical equipment such as keyboard and using a mouse

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
