Junior CAD Technician

We are hiring! Atkins is looking for a Junior CAD Technician to work on a variety of transportation related structural engineering projects across the US from our office in Tampa, Florida. Under immediate supervision, the Junior CAD Technician performs basic computer-assisted drafting tasks to acquire the necessary CAD skills and applicable software knowledge to support the technical services of the company.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
• Develops familiarity with CAD software and related equipment and procedures.
• Enters basic data, as instructed, such as measurements and commands, in order to generate construction drawings, renderings, report graphics and other digital images.
• Edits existing designs, following detailed instructions.
• Makes minor mathematical calculations.
• Checks drawing to verify completeness, clarity and accuracy, and presents to supervisor for review.
• Takes on-line software training programs, and reads manuals and other instructional materials to develop familiarity with CAD products and company/departmental procedures.
• Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

What will you contribute?

• High school diploma (or equivalent) plus two years related experience OR an Associates Degree in a related technical field is required.
• Mathematical and computer skills desired.
