Laundry Attendant/Breakfast Attendant
Job description
**This position will be asked to cover 2 positions, Laundry Attendant & Breakfast Attendant. The roll will be for 5 days a week. Required Monday/Tuesday & Weekend availability preferred. Looking to hire after the Holidays.**
A Breakfast Attendant is responsible for maintain cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass and silver, and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment, utensils, and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food preparation, storage and rotation.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards).
- Comply at all times with Mid-Continent Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure that all china, glass and silver are cleaned thoroughly and sanitation of such is maintained.
- Wash pots, pans and kitchen utensils following proper procedure for their cleanliness and sanitation, storing them in the proper location.
- Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and restaurant.
- Prepare breakfast food items while following Food Handling Health & Safety Standards
- Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area.
- Know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment.
- Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid possible injury to self or other employees.
- Be familiar with all hotel policies.
- Follow the proper procedures in the breakdown, cleaning and reassembling of all kitchen equipment as needed.
- Be familiar with all the hotel’s emergency procedures.
- Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and all other employees.
The Laundry Attendant maintains constant supply of clean linens for the hotel. Performs all stages of linen processing, including collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, load and unload (washers, dryers, and chutes), ironing, folding, storing and delivering. Cleans laundry machinery and laundry area.

- Employees must, at all times, be friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, manager and fellow employees.
- Understand operation of washing machines and dryers.
- Wash and dry all dirty linen, towels, rags, etc., as directed by management.
- Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained.
- Operate iron per standard and ensure that is it shut off at the end of the day.
- Sweep and mop laundry floors storing all linens off of the floor.
- Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
- Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Always practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guest and fellow employees.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Activities:
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Long hours sometimes required.
- Complete Food Handlers Certification
