The Logan County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking a Legal Assistant/Juvenile Victim Advocate to perform specialized functions in a timely manner. The successful candidate will screen and direct phone calls, maintain schedules, prepare a variety of legal documents, work with victims of crime and various other tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare & file legal documents
• Maintain organized files & filing systems
• Schedule appointments and keep track of deadlines
• Communicate directly with law enforcement, attorneys and courts
• Assist other staff as necessary
• Perform various administrative tasks

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to handle difficult situations and individuals
• Microsoft Office Suite proficient
• Detail-oriented & highly organized
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in fast paced environment & under pressure
• Confidentiality & discretion
• Patience & professionalism
• Excellent multi-tasking and time-management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Administrative and/or office skills/experience
• Legal experience

Physical Tasks:

Include frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, with occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds or more.

Compensation will be based upon education, experience, and qualifications.
