Job description

The Machine Operator, will operate the Corrugation and Frosting machines and occasionally, under the direction of a skilled tradesperson, assist in the
maintenance of existing equipment and the installation of new equipment throughout the plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Performs assigned duties such as corrugation, frosting, cleaning, construction, painting and other maintenance
and mechanical work as trained and required.
· Assembles roll packs, maintains roll inventory records and assists with roll changes.
· Operates forklifts and other company equipment.
· Operates hand and power tools and equipment safely.
· Provides assistance to maintenance staff and machine operators as required.
· Communicates with other departments in a courteous and diplomatic manner, always showing a high degree
of cooperation.
· Is aware of critical control points as they relate to product liability.
· Works responsibly throughout scheduled shifts.
· Responsible for compliance with Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company
safety standards.
· Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing tasks in production areas.
· Performs other tasks, including training, as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Grade 12 or equivalency.
· Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and physical fitness to perform the job (testing will be employed).
· Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces and in areas where there may be exposure to dusts or
fumes as a result of working on machinery.
· Maintenance experience in an industrial setting is an asset.
· Must be able to work independently and use initiative.
· Good working relationship with management and fellow employees.
· Willing and available for shift-work, including weekends, holidays and emergency call-outs as required.
