We are looking for a Marketing Specialist to start in June 2023!

The CAN Council is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect through its nationally accredited and evidence-based education, intervention and advocacy programs. Founded in 1979, the CAN Council has consistently grown over the past 42 years to meet the needs of the community’s children and families, providing services in Arenac, Bay, Huron and Saginaw counties. Job Purpose: Responsible for the strategic planning, development, and implementation of all of CAN Council’s marketing, communications, and public relations activities. Full-time position.

Job Location: This role can be performed in Saginaw or Bay Counties

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree accepted with appropriate experience; excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and experience using Microsoft 365, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, an Illustrator preferred. Experience using Constant Contact or similar e-marketing platform. Comfortable developing and following brand guidelines in both digital and print design. Strong copywriting and proofreading skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy along with organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of the Administration team.

Marketing Specialist Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate marketing campaigns to magnify the impact of CAN Council programs, recruit volunteers and enhance fundraising efforts.
  • Create and manage marketing campaign timelines and execution in compliance with grant requirements.
  • Work with CAN Council Program Directors to establish current initiatives and effectively design campaigns that meet the objectives of the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with the Administration team to plan, execute and evaluate fundraising and public awareness events.
  • Create and publish engaging content on all social media platforms and CAN Council website.
  • Draft media releases and distribute to regional media outlets and community partners.
  • Edit and evaluate select external communications for CAN Council programs ensuring proper grammar, accuracy, consistency, and brand compliance.
  • Oversee development of collateral materials including CAN Council’s Annual Report, program brochures, handouts, and educational materials in coordination with AGP & Associates, Inc.
  • Create all collateral not provided by AGP & Associates, including flyers, PowerPoint presentations, reply devices and web materials.
  • Establish content, edit submissions, and manage graphic design of the bi-monthly CAN Council e-newsletter and regular e-blasts.
  • Facilitate the Public Awareness Committee to brainstorm content, enhance current efforts and identify new opportunities to create awareness.
  • Ensure Corporate Partners and sponsors are acknowledged appropriately according to donor agreements.
  • Train and oversee one Marketing Intern for each semester.
  • Other duties as assigned to achieve the mission of the organization.

Salary range for this role: $40,000-$40,500 annually
