Position Summary

Job Description

As a Production Scheduler at MicroStrain you will be responsible for implementing the production plan to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers from the Williston facility. You will work closely with Production Team Members, Sales, Support and Customer Service to ensure that MicroStrain is delivering the highest quality, highest performing sensors and technology for some of the world's most innovative autonomous systems. Your responsibilities will focus on refining a production plan that balances material, available resources and work flow to ensure product is available ahead of customers demand. Prior experience in a combination of production planning, scheduling, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management is a must.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Creating production work orders that balance available resources to meet customer delivery schedules.
  • Adjusting and expediting production schedules based on requests from premier customers and the needs from Business Unit Leadership.
  • Reviewing order changes, customer requests for delivery/order status, and resolution of customer issues and concerns.
  • Advising management with recommendations for alternative plans when there is risk of financial impact to the business from delivery, capacity, cycle time or yields. Proficiently utilize the planning tools and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work with Buyer, Quality and Supply Chain resources to resolve material shortage issues.
  • Interact daily with the Customer Service and Support teams for all special customer shipment requests.
  • Serve as the point of contact for information on late order inquiries and shipment status.
  • Support and contribute to the continuous improvement of the process metrics related to procurement, planning, scheduling, and delivery performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new tools and skills

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience working in sensor manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or inventory management
  • General understanding of inventory management processes and tools.
  • Ability to master the utilization of MRP tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP software.
  • Ability to work independent of direct supervision and to work effectively in a team environment with management and coworkers.

Work Experience

  • 4-6 years production scheduling or equivalent experience within a manufacturing facility.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management is preferred
