Job description

The Material Handler receives all incoming materials, manages inventory control, receipts, prepares job kits for issue to manufacturing and picks, packs and ships customer orders. Hiring for full-time shifts: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, and 9:00 am-6:00 pm. The Distribution center is located on Boone Avenue in Brooklyn Park.

This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor/Warehouse Manager.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Receiving and unloading all incoming materials utilizing equipment such as forklift, Wave, and pallet jacks
  • Checking materials against requisitions, purchasing orders or invoices to verify quantity and quality of order and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors
  • Labeling and stocking all parts, including fibers, coming into the warehouse from vendors
  • Maintaining orderly arrangement of stock and assisting in inventory as required
  • Delivering and retrieving supplies to and from work or storage areas, including moving material to other plant locations
  • Pick, count, identify, and issuing parts/materials to production jobs based on pick-list BOM requirements
  • Recording all incoming material and daily inventory adjustments in the computer system
  • Generating and printing customer orders and accurately pick the product and quantity from the shelves
  • Verifying part numbers, pack, label (barcode), and ship all domestic and international orders
  • Generating end-of-day and carrier reports
  • Using banding and shrink wrap machine
  • Conferring with purchasing personnel regarding stock procurement and availability
  • Cleaning and maintaining supplies, tools, equipment and storage areas in order to ensure a safe working environment

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills; understand how to operate a computer, internet and basic computer software programs
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Ability to read and understand shipping documents
  • Ability to use banding and shrink-wrapping machines

Preferred

  • Six months to one year of prior warehouse experience
  • Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jack, and Wave
