FedEx Express Canada has 1 open full time Senior Mechanic position in our Mississauga location.

Position Summary: Provides timely, quality, cost effective maintenance for FedEx Express vehicle fleet and ground support equipment which requires preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications and documentation.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Coach Technician accreditations/certifications/licenses
• Must possess valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Completed vehicle apprentice program with certified diploma

Related Experience

• Fleet experience required - three (3) years
• Fleet maintenance experience an asset
• Amount of time required to learn or adjust to the job - 1 year

Computer/Technical Skills

• Basic electronic troubleshooting skills
• Must have working knowledge of use and operation of all automotive diagnostic testing equipment, gauges and tools associated with trouble shooting and repairs of gasoline, diesel and hydraulic powered equipment
• Must have basic knowledge of Welding and Safety procedures
• Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components up to 70 Ibs
• Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components above 70 Ibs with the help of appropriate lifting mechanical assistance
• Must own a complete set of automotive or truck hand tools including metric sizes and storage cabinets for same

Other:

• Basic Inter/Intranet preferred, MS Office, Basic Word, Outlook preferred
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Good negotiation skills
• Must have the ability to work without direct supervision for extended periods of time

Location: 1450 Caterpillar Rd Mississauga, ON

Shift: Mon to Fri - NOON start time

Wage: $38.00 /hour * Weekly pay checks, Benefits package, Employees Discount, Tuition reimbursement

• 8 hour shift
