Now Hiring Mechanical Technician!

Perform duties to install, maintain and repair equipment at the BASF Freeport Chemical Plant. Tasks include process equipment installation, maintenance troubleshooting and repairs utilizing millwright skills in pipefitting, pneumatic, hydraulic, rigging, laser alignment and other millwright work on rotating equipment such as process machinery, pumps, agitators, grinders and conveyors. Assist other mechanics in mechanical assignments as required.

Our Equipment Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the repair and maintenance of all mechanical equipment including mechanical seals, gear boxes, drive couplings among others.

During your time as a Maintenance Technician you will…

• Work with maintenance supervision, other technicians, engineers and production personnel to design plant equipment and modifications.

• 
  Improve equipment reliability by maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting and utilizing all resources available. Findings reported to supervision with appropriate recommendations.

• Support, maintain and improve preventive maintenance and Mechanical Integrity Program to insure equipment reliability.

• Utilize shop equipment, e.g., band saw, drill press, grinders and power hand tools.

• Actively participate in plant safety meetings. Works within BASF site and corporate procedures.

• Demonstrates a team-oriented demeanor conducive to all BASF goals as well as maintain good attendance history.

• On-call support for after-hours production demands to include working overtime and weekends when needed.

• Drive a company vehicle and must possess a valid driver’s license

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

If you…

Have a High School Diploma or GED. Have 5 years of experience working on rotating equipment. Have 5 years of experience performing maintenance repairs on pumps, replacing seals, changing bearings, read a bearing chart, doing reverse alignment with dial indicators, or opta-line, measure with outside micrometer, dial calipers, inside micrometers and replacing motors. Possess 5 years of experience reading mechanical blueprints. Have 3 years of experience with email management (open, read, respond).
