About us

Poetry Community Christian School is an accredited K-12th school with enrollment of more than 200 students on a 12.6 acre campus in Poetry, between Royse City and Terrell. Primarily middle income families wanting educational excellence in a Christ-based environment enroll their children here. Families reside primarily from Royse City, Forney, Caddo Mills, Rockwall, Terrell, Quinlan, Kaufman, Wills Point, Scurry, Fate, Poetry, and Greenville. While PCCS does not require state-based testing, its annual TERRANOVA achievement test is administered without "testing to a test," and school averages are high nationally. PCCS offers an innovative approach to the educational experience, characterized by affordable tuition, parent involvement, college-prep programming, exemplary curricula, a learning differences small group program, competitive sports, and a wide variety of enrichment electives.

About the Position: Personable, Christian, strong social media skills (including Yelp, Google, Facebook, Instagram, website updates, video and editing for posts, etc.). Tech-savvy with printer/computer/AV troubleshooting, Microsoft skills, marketing insight, team player. Benefits included (see below). Pay is completely dependent upon your skill sets. It will be at the lower end of the posted range while training and can increase as proficiency is acquired. Food handling certification and any medical certification a plus since this is a school. Schedule is a 40 hour week during August - May school days (Monday-Thursday 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Fridays 7:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m.). Most of the admin team takes off during Thanksgiving, Christmas, February and Easter Breaks but some hours are available for this position during Breaks for ongoing task completion. Summer hours are reduced in June (generally 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. M-Th) to close out the school term and campus, limited in July when vacations and mission trips are encouraged, and back to a regular schedule beginning August 1. However, there are plenty of online telecommuting tasks for summer if you wish to have the hours.

Working at PCCS is a ministry and due to our family pool of primarily middle class income offers lower pay than what federally-funded or expensive private schools can offer. >Elementary and junior high have a 4 day week
>High school has a 4.5 day week (adjourn at 1:20 p.m. on Fridays)
>Breaks: 10 days off Thanksgiving, 17 off Christmas, 10 days off February Break, and 10 days off Easter Break adjourning the Thursday before Memorial Day (about 1.5 months less than most schools)
>Pay is dependent upon schedule, prior experience, skills sets, ability to take initiative, work with a team, and work with computers (e.g., Microsoft, and learn our school management system).
>BENEFITS PAID BY PCCS for full-time include: Medical Insurance or monthly HSA contributions plus Vision Insurance and four personal paid days off, Faculty Dinners, and other staff development and team building activities.
>Mandatory: A Christian testimony plus an interest in pouring into the lives of students to develop them academically, emotionally, developmentally and spiritually.

PCCS follows healthy and safety protocols for on-campus learning. COVID did not spread on campus during 2020-21 nor now. The school is thriving with in-person learning, a strict symptoms policy (symptoms/stay home/go home), and facility safety factors.
