Express Healthcare Professionals has an exciting opportunity for Certified Medical Assistants seeking employment opportunities in Downtown Nashville.

Certified Medical Assistants professionals will enjoy:

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma
• 6 months minimum of experience of on-the-job training
• CPR or BLS certification NOT from an online-only class
• TB test taken within the last 12 months
• Medical assistant certification or license

Job Duties Include:

• Medical assistants complete administrative and clinical tasks in hospitals, offices of physicians, and other healthcare facilities.
• Medical assistants record patient history and personal information
• Medical assistants measure vital signs, such as blood pressure
• Medical assistants help physicians with patient examinations
• Medical assistants give patients injections or medications as directed by physicians and as permitted by state law
• Medical assistants schedule patient appointments
• Medical assistants prepare blood samples for laboratory tests
• Medical assistants enter patient information into medical records

Important Qualities of Medical Assistants:

• Analytical skills. Medical assistants must be able to understand and follow medical charts and diagnoses. They may be required to code a patient’s medical records for billing purposes.
• Detail oriented. Medical assistants need to be precise when taking vital signs or recording patient information. Physicians and insurance companies rely on accurate records.
• Interpersonal skills. Medical assistants need to be able to discuss patient information with other medical personnel, such as physicians. They often interact with patients who may be in pain or in distress, so they need to be able to act in a calm and professional manner.
• Technical skills. Medical assistants should be able to use basic clinical instruments so they can take a patient’s vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure.
