Mental Health Specialist - Part-Time or PRN (as needed)
Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare is actively seeking highly-motivated individuals skilled in leadership and communication to fulfill the role of Mental Health Specialist (MHS). The ideal candidate will have a positive demeanor and sharp attention to detail, will demonstrate consistency and reliability, and must have a heart for helping mentally and behaviorally disabled teenage boys.

We regularly hire for the following MHS positions:
FT: Weekends – every Friday/Saturday/Sunday - 12hr shifts
- We offer flexible scheduling options with no mandates
- Part-Time and PRN positions do not qualify for sign-on bonus or benefits
- We try to accommodate shift preference, however not all shifts are available at all times
Job Description & Essential Duties:
- Provide direct supervision and care for intellectually disabled adolescents in a residential setting
- Provide daily living skills direction, examples, and demonstration to residents at different levels of ability
- Provide positive and appropriate intervention, limit-setting, response, problem-solving, and guidance when needed
- Provide effective, accurate, and legible documentation in a timely fashion
- Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and follow-thru with resident treatment plans and interventions
- Respond to children in a caring, mature manner while demonstrating sound professional boundaries with both residents and staff
- Serve as a role model for residents and other staff
- Assist in management of aggressive behavior
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field of study preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, preferred
Successful candidates must also be able to:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds,
- Effectively use the full range of body motion, - sit, bend, kneel or stand for more than an hour if needed.
- Reflect behavior, attitude, and appearance appropriate to the position and be supportive of the facility and division philosophy, goals, and objectives
- Successfully complete and pass all components of Handle With Care & Verbal De-escalation Crisis Intervention Training,
- Effectively perform facility approved First Aid and CPR techniques (CPR, First Aid, and HWC training will be obtained during new employee orientation)

Pay is Hourly (bi-weekly) and is commensurate with education and experience.
