Title:
Model-Based Systems EngineerKBR is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer to support the Legacy Trainer System Program Office. Candidate will apply skills and experience in digital engineering and object-oriented systems engineering addressing technical planning and execution of system modeling and simulation utilizing model-based engineering tools and practices to support enterprise systems engineering activities. US Air Force weapon system applications including aircraft hardware and software integration, interoperability with communications and data networks, mission systems and system-of-system architectures. Candidate should be self-driven and experienced at applying digital engineering processes and tools for weapon systems, enjoy working in a fast-paced, responsive, and collaborative environment, and dedicated to the success of our customers in rapidly developing and prototyping advanced capabilities.
This position can be located on Tinker AFB, Hill AFB, or Wright Patterson AFB will require interfacing with government personnel.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as a technical authority responsible for actions necessary to apply disciplined systems engineering and systems architecting policies, processes and procedures on critical/complex aircraft systems.
- Manages and oversees systems engineering and systems architecting activities including requirements analyses, functional analyses, design solutions formulation and generation and maintenance of systems architecture products.
- Coaches and mentors the workforce on systems architecting, systems modeling and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles.
- Provides recommendations to the organization on implementation of new techniques, methodologies and toolsets related to systems architecting.
- Trace related analysis models and results to enterprise tools supporting, requirements development, requests for change, engineering review board, CONOPS and architecture development.
- Use commercial digital tools such as Dassault/Cameo Systems Modeler and industry-standard digital engineering methods such as object-oriented systems engineering methodology (OOSEM) to evolve and characterize the emerging system and subsystems, and operational environment.
- Plan and facilitate technology exchanges and peer-review discussions, and deliver presentations to senior Government leadership, technical colleagues, and industry partners. Develop data strategy to ensure availability, security, and Government access to key technology, system, and environment data. Ability to advise USG personnel on tailored need-based assessments and potential solutions for Program Office data environment growth toward Digital Enterprise goals.
- Ability to multi-task, provide clear and well-organized verbal and written communication, problem solve, critical and creative thinking and advise.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- Bachelors’ Degree in science, engineering, math, computer science or other technical discipline with 7+ years of relevant work experience.
- Systems Engineering experience with Model-Based Engineering applications and technology such as Cameo Systems Modeler or SysML.
- SECRET clearance, current within past 5 years.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, SysML and their application to DOD weapon systems.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of engineering analysis and analytical simulation tools such as MATLAB, Systems Toolkit (STK), Mathematica, Modelica, SciPy or SciKit-Learn
- Must have extensive knowledge of dependent technical disciplines and the ability to recognize various architectural patterns/ applying resultant analysis appropriately across the systems’ digital representation.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Level II/III DAWIA certification in Systems Engineering/SPRDE.
- USAF System Program Office experience and/or trainer aircraft experience.
