Responsibilities

Cedar Hills Hospital currently has an opening for a Outpatient Technician in our Outpatient Clinic. The Outpatient Tech role is a combination of in-office support and patient transportation. Key responsibilities for the Outpatient Tech role are: providing patient transportation, orienting new clients to the Outpatient programs, providing explanations on consent paperwork/HIPAA/etc., phone coverage, scheduling appointments, front desk coverage, completing UAs, providing basic support services to patients (ie. scheduling questions, case management, etc.), administrative support, and some medical record functions.

The patient transportation function of the position entails transporting both outpatient and inpatient patients. Outpatient transportation requires taking outpatient patients to and from their daily treatment. Inpatient transportation requires picking up inpatient patients and transporting to the hospital, taking active inpatient patients to outside appointments (i.e., medical, dental, etc.) and transporting inpatient patients home or to other care facilities at time of inpatient discharge.

Qualifications

Education: High school Diploma required. College degree preferred.

Experience: One or more year's experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company, with experience in case management or coordination of care.

Licensure: Valid drivers license.

Training: Successful completion of Crisis Management and Service Excellence training must occur within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in any restraining procedures.

May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
