POSITION: Outreach and Engagement Manager
STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
PURPOSE: The Outreach and Engagement Manager is responsible for development, outreach, and external communication to advance the goals and mission of Women In Need. This position has a major emphasis on brand management and development efforts and is responsible for the following: management of communication functions; building external relationships with the organization’s constituencies, funding sources and the media; collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop new programming and revenue streams; and implementing new strategies and partnership working with the Executive Director and other organizational directors.
HOURS: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Position may require some evening and weekend hours.
WAGES: Salary. Commensurate with experience
QUALIFICATIIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; master’s degree preferred
2. Excellent written and verbal skills
3. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
4. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office apps
5. Proficient marketing development skills
6. Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects at one time
7. Experience working with and managing volunteers
8. Proficient project management and event planning skills
9. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines for assigned projects
10. Experience working with a donor management system preferred
11. Professional attitude, attire, and work ethic
12. Ability to maintain confidentiality of conversations and records
13. Competency in adhering to daily office protocol
14. Ability to communicate effectively within departments and with co-workers, clients and donors
15. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse people groups
16. Ability to bend, reach/twist, stand for long periods of time, and carry event and office equipment as needed up to 35 pounds
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with Executive Director and other Directors to advance the mission, purpose, and priorities of the organization to include development of partnerships
2. Direct the planning and implementation of all organizational events, campaigns, and fundraisers
3. Maintain a segmented list of potential financial donors including corporations, foundations, and individuals including the development of corporate sponsorships and benefits
4. Increase awareness in community to promote the organization’s programs and services through community involvement, social media, and community partners
5. Research potential sources of funding and apply for grants and public funding in tandem with Executive Director.
6. Oversee the volunteer program and development of volunteer coordinators and ambassadors including generation of an annual report of service hours, monetary value, and growth opportunities
7. Maximize use and integration of donor management and giving platforms, website, social media, and other communication tools to deliver a responsive donor experience at all touch points to increase retention and attract new donors
8. Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications plan across all channels and track effectiveness
9. Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action.
10. Manage media contacts.
11. Manage development, distribution, and maintenance of print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, annual report, e-newsletters, and website.
OTHER SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Work with volunteer coordinators to meet goals and expectations. Provide feedback on performance for annual reviews.
2. Serve as subject matter expert for donor management system and giving platform and provide training for users.
3. Assist Executive Director to set goals and expectations for administrative team members.
