Paralegal/College Graduate Interested in Law
Job description
Growing law firm has an opening for a full-time, bright and motivated paralegal or college graduate interested in law to support our Syosset, New York office by providing a full range of paralegal and administrative support to legal staff.
The ideal candidate will have previously worked in an office environment in a support position. Knowledge of the legal field is helpful but not necessary.
Hours: 9:00am-6:00 pm, Monday – Friday
Education/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with aptitude to learn new software and systems (use of iManage document management system and Timeslips is helpful.)
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare and electronically file various legal documents and correspondence
· Assist attorneys in meetings and with correspondence with clients
· Assistant will work closely with two partners in regard to scheduling of appointments and maintain phone logs; administrative support for upcoming lectures/webinars and professional committee meetings; and provide support for additional matters, as required
· Billing assistance: assist partners with inputting time for client billing; prepare and send invoices; prepare and process expense reports and reconciliations for partners, as needed
· Monitor and maintain office equipment; inventory supplies and order replacement supplies as needed
· Coordinate office and maintenance issues for general repair and updates via building management portal
