We are seeking a PATIENT SERVICE ASSOCIATE for our Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine clinic in our Raleigh location to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. This role includes participation in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient check in/out, cash drawer and patient appointment scheduling.

Job Duties:
- Follow guidelines to schedule new & established patient appointments with appropriate provider, including labs, transfer calls and send messages. Obtain, verify and update patient demographic and insurance data during the phone call. Use Jabber when necessary.
- Rescheduling patients due to provider schedule changes
- Other duties as assigned (mail, faxes, scanning, all Maestro Care In-Basket requests includes (appointments, prescription, staff messages), maintenance of the lobby, restocking supplies.
- Check-in patient upon arrival in the practice according to established procedures; including, patient identification and verification in electronic health record and entering and editing information as needed.
- Present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signature as required by policy and procedure, collect and post co-payments and balances on accounts due, copy, file and insurance cards when necessary.
- Coordinate all labs/procedures as requested.
- Prepare and audit encounter forms for completeness and accuracy before closing drawer.
Required Qualifications:
- Requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally acquired through high school education
- Minimum of one year of work experience in directly communicating and providing service to patients or public is required.
- Experience in effectively coordinating multiple tasks or activities is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate professionally, in both verbal and written communication
- Basic PC and data entry skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and work effectively under stressful situations
- Must be able to apply specific departmental policies rules and regulations relating to verifying patient information, collecting payments and maintaining records and forms
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
