We are looking for a Payroll/Accounting Manager to join our team at Arboreta Healthcare's home office!
Job Summary:
The Payroll/Accounting Manager will oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll department and functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Directly reporting to the Sr. Director of Accounting, this position is also responsible for general accounting functions as determined by business need.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Supervises payroll team.
Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures and governmental regulations.
Prepares, manages or assists in the preparation/reconciliation of reports and documents for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and accounting insuring accuracy of the data.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and multi-state payroll taxes.
Multi-state payroll processing experience required.
Proficient with payroll software.
Knowledge of accounting practices and systems
Knowledge to analyze, balance and/or reconcile financial data
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
Three to five years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
