POSITION SUMMARY

Support the physical therapists by handling routine tasks and administrative actions. Record and maintain working documentation to enhance patient records.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Aid patients in rehabilitation exercises to increase strength, range of motion, etc.
• Increase patient’s workout program as needed per the therapist discretion.
• Establish patient modalities per therapist discretion.
• Create and demonstrate therapist home exercise program under therapist guidance.
• Begin patient’s warm up exercises when they arrive for therapy.
• Arrange “walk down” patients from doctors with an available therapist. Enable therapist to take on additional walk-in patients while maintaining existing patient appointments.
• Coordinate driving services for patients.
• Clean gym equipment, rooms, and tables
• Refill supplies as needed. Order and stock equipment as assigned.
• Schedule patients as assigned
• Perform routine administrative tasks: answer phones, deliver messages, copying, faxing, and filling protocols.
• Maintain equipment as needed.
• Prepare gym diaries for each therapist for the next business day.
• Clean laundry throughout the day.

REQUIRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and Experience:

• High school diploma
• Exercise Physiology degree preferred with health science background in orthopaedics. Must have current CPR certification

Motor, sensory and physical requirements:

• Frequent bending, stooping, lifting and reaching required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to physically demonstrate all exercises
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally
• Employee must have normal or correctible range of hearing and eyesight
