This is a unique position for a Principal Software Architect. You will be working at the forefront of the Intelligence Community (IC) You can work at any Leidos facility in the Washington Metro area. We are looking for a leader with a software background that has XML experience. You would be working on technical specifications for how software works together within the IC. This role is a mix of coding with XML along with XSLT, Schema, Python, Java, Agile, JIRA.
Must have an active TS/SCI and Polygraph up front.
Primary Responsibilities
Leidos is seeking a technical and strategic thinker with broad knowledge and understanding of technical standards, but more importantly, a desire and capability to solve complex data-standardization problems. Position is in support of solving highly complex data standardization challenges within the Intelligence Community (IC).
- Community collaboration and negotiation on adoption and implementation of technical standards.
- Lengthy analysis of multi-faceted problems from all possible angles.
- Policy analysis and translation from abstract concepts to concrete technical specifications.
- Develop presentations to articulate complexities and trade-offs in order to drive community decisions in the best interest of the entire IC.
- Experience within the IC helping to set strategic direction, crafting technical responses to actions assigned by sponsor.
- Experience in the areas of IC Data and Metadata Standards and Policy.

- Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or Information Technology desired.
- Understanding and general experience in software development (e.g., SVN, ANT, Java, XML, XSLT).
- Experience translating policy (e.g., IC Directives) into technical specifications (e.g., schema, schematron).
- Ability to go from abstract to concrete and vice versa.
- Create PowerPoint presentations to articulate work implications to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Some Linux/system administration skills.
- Experience with collaborating with governance forums that have widely varying priorities and missions.
- Strong collaboration and coordination skills on a large scale (across the entire IC).
- Experience resolving and negotiating the closure and agreement upon issues between agencies with competing requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, ability to consistently provide high-quality products that are concise, thorough, and accurate.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $142,350.00 - $219,000.00 - $295,650.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
